Rerun

A faceless phantom
Whose name I knew
A kid from the past
Turned out to be you

An old TV rerun
The ending remains unknown
Stay tuned to this frequency
'til he comes back home

Secretly staring at her muse
Girl hiding behind the tint
Desperately hoping you'd look back
She failed to see your hint

Squinted her eyes to see
the sillhouette of the stars
her ears strained to hear
from the noise of passing cars

An old TV rerun
The ending remains unknown
Stay tuned to this frequency
'til he comes back home

When the static started to clear
A distinct voice was heard
It was the first time she heard you speak
She analyzed every word

The faceless man now held a place
Between her heart and her head
It felt like a scene somehow
From a chapter she once read

An old TV rerun
The ending remains unknown
Stay tuned to this frequency
'til he comes back home

Now the network is signing off
But a smile played on her lips
She had the stations promise
She'd see the show, although in bits

The credits were rolling now
Her eyes glued to the screen
A caption caught her senses
The next episode would soon be seen

An old TV rerun
The ending remains unknown
Stay tuned to this frequency
'til he comes back home
